Our Classes

Tiny Tots

-Small class size. Age range from 3 to 5. Primarily a movement class with introduction to hand movements and facial expressions and some technique. Story telling and mythology also play a major role.

BEGINNERS LEVELS​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

-Small class size. Age range usually from 5 to 10. Introduction to all aspects of this dance - hand and feet movements, theory, mythology, facial expressions and the drama aspect of dance (Bhedas, Mudras, Rasaas, Jathis etc. )Includes items like Steps practice, Slokas, Pushpanjali, alarippu , swarajathi, Shabdam and Dance theater. 

Also might contain annual day theme-based Neoclassical items and Folk items.

DANCING QUEENS CLUB​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

An informal class/club created to give enterprising adults the opportunity to pursue this dance form as mature adults and strike one item of their bucket list!

MUSIC CLASSES

Classes established for kids and adults interested in learning the Carnatic music basics, small slokas and songs. This class also complements those interested in pursuing teaching dance in the future.

INTERMEDIATE LEVELS​​​​

Small class size. Determined by skill level. Continuing next level of this dance - hand and feet movements, theory, mythology, facial expressions and the drama aspect of dance. Items include Padams and Tillana.

Also might contain annual day theme-based Neoclassical items and Folk items. 

 

​ADVANCED AND PERFORMANCE LEVELS

Group classes with the sole aim of performing all year long and building a dance portfolio. Both advanced theory and items are taught directly by the Artistic Director. Items include both classical and neo-classical items with introduction to teaching and choreography. 

Also might contain annual day theme-based Neoclassical items and Folk items.

ARANGETRAM TRACK / PRIVATE CLASSES

One-on-one classes are primarily to either enhance the students strengths and fix the weaknesses or to prepare student for the Arangetram tenure.

​

DANCE DRAMA CLUB

This seasonal class/club is primarily to learn the art of 'Natya' or dance theater. Emphasis is on expressions, story telling, creating props etc.
